Our third post to meet the staff will introduce you to Ron’s great-granddaughter: Maddy. She loves helping out in Springfield’s best antique store in her spare time.
How did you first get introduced into antiquing?
When I was about two years old my grandma took me to flea markets. I started selling my own stuff when I was like seven year old.
What is your day-to-day role at the shop?
To dance around and entertain the costumers and staff. It usually drives my aunt crazy (:
What are your hobbies?
Dancing and singing and telling knock knock jokes (:
If you weren’t at the shop on the weekend, where would you be?
At my dance studio / my home (: I’m there 24/7! Its like I live there!!
What is your favorite item at the shop?
These really cool vintage roller skates!! I put them on and skate around all the time!!
What one item would you like to see at the shop?
I’d like to see some really cool pointe shoe or some leotard from like the first Nutcracker or something from Broadway. That’d be REALLY cool!!!
If you had a million dollars, what would you do with it?
I would take A LOT of dance classes and take my whole family to New York to watch Broadway shows!!!
What’s your favorite TV show?
Glee. The dancers and singers are amazing.
What is your fondest memory of Ron?
All the time when we’re at the store he goes outside and calls and pretends to be a costumer. One time he called and asked if we have lawnmowers and I ran outside to ask him and he was just sitting there laughing.
